Watch the Walking Dead Casts Heartfelt Send-Off to Andrew Lincoln

Celebrities

Fans of The Walking Dead might be bracing for a huge loss as Rick Grimes leaves The Walking Dead on Sunday—but the shows cast and crew are bracing for a farewell of a different kind. Andrew Lincoln, who has played the zombie dramas hero since 2010, has made a lot of friends on that set in Georgia—and in a farewell video, cast members old and new gathered for a touching send-off to their fearless leader.

The video, released by AMC on Friday, features a wide array of actors—some of whom saw their characters die relatively early in the Walking Deads run, and some of whom are still alive and kicking. In addition to the majority of the current cast, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Irone Singleton, Chad Coleman, Austin Nichols, Lennie James, and Steven Yeun all showed up to pay their respects to an actor the group described as a generous, positive influence on the set—and willing to do things like travel an hour to greet new cast members even when he was not filming. Scott Wilson, who played Hershel Greene for three seasons, and who died last month at the age of 76, also makes an appearance.

In addition to the interviews, the video features behind-the-scenes photos of Lincoln and his fellow actors goofing off on set. (Unfortunately, there are no glitter-bomb photos.)
