Upcoming edge-of-the-seat thriller Pihu features child actor Myra Vishwakarma playing the titular role. Myra was 2-years-old when she shot for the Vinod Kapri directorial in 2015. The trailer of Pihu which was released on Wednesday has left cinephiles intrigued.

Kapri who made his debut with the movie Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho fell in love with the two-year-old Myra the moment he met her. In an interview with Indian Express, the filmmaker divulged details on how the film unfolded with the little one onboard. “We gave her time to acquaint herself with the space as well as the crew. We would shoot for two hours a day. There were three cameras placed on the set because you cant ask a two-year-old to give another take. The toys that you see in the film all belong to Myra,” revealed Kapri.

During the interaction, Pihu director Vinod Kapri said he tweaked the script of his film to fit the behavioural patterns of Myra aka Pihu. He met her frequently and spent time with her. To create a favourable environment for the two-year-old, the team of the film rented an apartment and Myra and her parents shifted there. They filmed the movie in the same apartment.

The filmmaker also mentioned the doubts film producers had about Myra being the only actor in the movie. He said, “Most of them questioned me how am I going to hold the attention of the audience for 100 minutes with only one actor who is a child? I was worried over the delay as the girl was growing up. I wanted to make the film with her before she turned three.”

Pihu, bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur & Shilpa Jindal, will release in the theaters on November 16.
