Jason Sudeikis Brings Joe Bidens Creepy Touching Back to Saturday Night Live

Granted a brief pause in headlines from the Mueller report, Saturday Night Live reached across the aisle for another of its signature political impersonations. This weekends cold open naturally took aim at allegations of unwanted physical contact against former vice president (and likely 2020 candidate) Joe Biden, as once again realized by former cast member Jason Sudeikis.

The six-minute cold open to Kit Haringtons hosting debut featured Bidens aides confronting him with a need to undergo sensitivity training, so as to better connect with prospective voters without resorting to overzealous touching. “You guys know that Im a tactile politician, right?” Sudeikis Biden asked advisers played by Cecily Strong and Kenan Thompson. “Im a hugger, Im a kisser, and Im a little bit of a sniffer.”

The bit even snuck in a quick dig at Massachusetts senator and fellow 2020 prospective Elizabeth Warren, as Biden uncomfortably rubs noses with his sensitivity trainer (Kate McKinnon), offering: “I did the 23andMe thing, like Lizzy Warren, and turns out I am 1 percent Eskimo, so I can do this kissing thing.” After driving off one potential voter, Sudeikis Biden actually does manage to connect with another (Leslie Jones), who reciprocates his frantic touching after recognizing him as “Obamas granddaddy.”
