Chance The Rapper has weighed in on Netflix’s critically-panned movie Bright, saying how he felt ‘cheated’ by the film’s depiction of allegorical racism.

The flick starring Will Smith is set in an alternate present day Los Angeles, where humans coexist alongside orcs, elves and fairies in an uneasy peace.

Chance, real name Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, has now sparked debate over the film in a series of tweets, asking: ‘Wondering how you guys are feeling about the lynched ork [sic] in #Brightmovie.

‘I found the way they tried to illustrate Americas racism through the mythical creatures to be a little shallow.

‘I always feel a lil cheated when I see allegorical racism in movies cause that racism usually stems from human emotion or tolerance but not by law or systems the way it is in real life.
