Ariana Grande teases new song Imagine is terrifyingly personal about heartache and fans cant even deal

Ariana Grande is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Like santa in the dark of night, the 25-year-old has announced that shell be releasing a brand new single on Thursday titled Imagine.

And yep, you guessed it, the track will see Ari pour her heart out about the end of a relationship and being in denial about a break-up. It suggests that the song was written after the popstar split from her fiance Pete Davidson in October, four months after getting engaged.

It also comes just weeks after the release of her latest single Thank U, Next, which has earned much critical-acclaim.

Sharing the exciting news with her Twitter followers in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Ari simply tweeted: Imagine thursday night.

We are ready.

Bowing in to pressure from fans desperate to know more details about the song, Ariana explained: Kind of like… pretending it never ended. denial. but i look forward to you hearing it and having your own experience with it. you may take away something totally different and specific to your life! love u [sic].

When one fan asked how personal Ariana will get on Imagine, the singer replied: Terrifyingly so. like i want to take things off. but my friends tell me not to.

Ariana also admitted that the ballad is very very special to her.

Fans are still enjoying Thank U, Next, which Ari wrote as a sassy tribute to her former boyfriends, including Big Sean and late rapper Mac Miller.

The music video only heightened support for the catchy track, with cameos from Kris Jenner and some of the Mean Girls cast while also paying tribute to iconic 90s movies like Bring It On.

While her personal life has been challenging, its been a phenomenal year for Aris career with the popstar ending 2018 on a high after being named Billboards woman of the year.
