Leila is based on the book of the same name by Prayaag Akbar. The dystopian drama is set in the near future where Shalini is looking for her missing daughter whom she lost 2 years ago. Shalini, who was once wealthy, has to now avoid the eyes of the surveillance system and the men who keep an eye on her every movement just so she can find her daughter. The book projects this world as the one that is highly policed where the society is constantly monitored to maintain purity. Shalini, who married a Muslim man, possibly bears consequences of the same after their daughter goes missing under strange circumstances.

Leila is a six-episode series and will start streaming in 2019.
