A year after The Last Jedi hit screens, director Rian Johnson has thanked the Star Wars universe for its support of the film. Even the critical ones
Is it his way of distracting us from searching for any and all intel on Star Wars 9, though? Perhaps, but well go with it for now because its dang lovely.
The man behind the eighth instalment in the OG franchise took to Twitter on Saturday to celebrate the weekend by in turn celebrating the first anniversary of the flick which, while it brought in the bucks, was a divisive film with critics and die hard fans.
But, as Rian has made clear, hes here for the opinionated conversation. Anyway, it did earn a rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. So cant be all that bad.

While hes a cool dude to acknowledge he didnt make a film everyone liked, but hey the box office figures argue it was still a pleaser to many.
One of the biggest releases of 2017, it made $1.3 billion (£1.03billion) worldwide in ticket sales and this year raked in $16.4million (£13million) in DVD sales.
Still, the replies to his message were divided just like it was yesteryear.
Some thanked him for bringing these epic tales to the screen: Seriously thank you for making all my wildest dreams come true. The characters youve continued and brought to the franchise mean the world to me now, and I couldnt be more pleased with how they grew.
While others just slammed him for apparently ruining beloved characters: You derailed a franchise and tore apart its fanbase.
This is why we cant have nice things, we guess.
It comes as the fever heats back up with one theory arriving last week in the form of the next title. Or so some punters believe.
One pundit believes the ninth chapter will be called Son Of Darkness. And boy are Star Wars fans divided by the potential (read: just a rumour) name.

Some say it might have something to do with Luke Skywalker, you know, being Darth Vaders son and all. So Kylo Ren may not even factor into it.
