Calling All Cozy Girls! This Is How to Wear a Cardigan in 2020

Cardigans are a closet staple, but they also happen to be trending items in fashion right now. What's the update? Well, with an influx of '90s and early-aughts fashion over the past several seasons (tube tops being one of our favorites right now), the 2020 take is all about wearing cardigans as tops, whether it's thin and cropped à la a baby tee or a classic silhouette in a bright color or fun pattern.

There are also chunkier cardigans out there that are great for styling as tops, too. The fresh way to wear yours? With a few buttons secured at the top and several left open for a chic reveal of skin. Or as a midlayer between a lightweight top and a jacket for transitional and cool weather. The best thing about cardigans? They're perfect for lounging around the house in or for when you want an outfit that looks just-dressed enough but not overdone (we know you're in need of some great work-from-home outfits right now).

While we're almost certain you have ..

Can Certain Face-Mist Ingredients Help Prevent COVID-19 Spread? We Asked a Derm

Scientifically speaking, the novel coronavirus is still so new to us, so we're constantly receiving new information and best practices for controlling the spread of it. New research on the skin-care ingredient hypochlorous acid has people wondering if products containing it, specifically face mists, can help kill COVID-19 germs. In fact, a recent discussion popped up in the Real Reviews With POPSUGAR Beauty Facebook group surrounding the topic, so we reached out to board-certified New York City-based dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD, FAAD, to clear up any confusion.

For anyone unfamiliar, hypochlorous acid (HOCI) is an antibacterial agent. In skin care, hypochlorous acid has a variety of b..

Young Athletes Are Developing Myocarditis After COVID — Now Scientists Are Exploring a Link

A possible new side effect of COVID-19 is being looked into, and it's appearing to affect young athletes. Myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, has been detected in approximately a third of Big Ten athletes who've tested positive for COVID-19, according to Wayne Sebastianelli, MD, director of athletic medicine at Penn State.

“When we looked at our COVID-positive athletes, whether they were symptomatic or not, 30 to roughly 35 percent of their heart muscles (are) inflamed,” Dr. Sebastianelli said during a virtual board of school directors meeting on Aug. 31. The inflammation was revealed during cardiac MRI scans, and Dr. Sebastianelli said this information was part of the the Pac-12 and Big Ten's decisions to call off fall sports.

It's not the first time young athletes have been linked to myocarditis — which can be fatal if left untreated — after testing positive. Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, 27, tested positive for the coronavirus in July ..
